Community Waste Service

This Council provides community waste vehicles in each of the towns every Saturday for the disposal of unwanted domestic waste.
The vehicles are on site from 8 am until 12 noon, or until full.

The vehicles are situated at:

Between April and October, in Didcot, Thame and Wallingford, a separate container will be on site for garden waste that will be taken for composting.

Community waste vehicles visit 9 villages around the district on a weekly basis, for residents to dispose of unwanted household items, furniture and garden waste.

Fridges and freezers cannot be disposed of in the community waste vehicle as the harmful CFC's within them need to be removed before disposal. The Council will collect these items for disposal from your home, at a charge, telephone 01491 823416, if you wish to arrange this service.

Asbestos, car batteries, oil/oil cans, gas cylinders, paint/paint tins, and tyres should be taken to a Waste Recycling Centre.

All community waste services will be suspended over the Christmas and New Year period.

This service is for use by private residents of South Oxfordshire only. Anyone with commercial or trade waste will be turned away.

Details of the community waste service, including a location map and times, can be downloaded in Adobe Acrobat format from here.
